Hi Chris
That's good news, so how do we get it out of Intrepid Alpha 6 and stop
the message appearing when trying to run Screens and Graphics (or is
that deprecated too)?

displayconfig-gtk is 'Screens and Graphics'. You just need to uninstall
the displayconfig-gtk package from your local machine.

I confirm sudo apt-get remove displayconfig-gtk ran ok without
incident. I had to manually remove 'Screens and Graphics' menu item in
ApplicationsOther by deleting in SystemPreferencesMain Menu.
I'm getting an 'Unknown' message in Monitor Resolution Settings window.

displayconfig-gtk doesn't exist in Intrepid, see:
$ rmadison displayconfig-gtk

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help make Ubuntu
better. However, displayconfig-gtk is deprecated in Intrepid, and is no
longer in the repositories (hence the message that you see). Therefore,
I will close this report as Invalid.
Thanks

This is related to bug 272540, that the update-manager does not notify
the user about packages that have been removed from the archives. In
this particular case, the update-manager should probably just remove
displayconfig-gtk from the system during the upgrade.
