This was fixed in the upload of fast-user-switch-applet 2.24.0-0ubuntu2.

Just talked with Ted. The bug is well understood and he is working on a
fix. fusa should ask gpm over d-bus about available options instead of
guesstimating.

Also, for me the applet only shows "Suspend", whereas gnome-session
(rightfully) has suspend and hibernate.
