The missing packages are language-pack-kde-{en|it} and language-pack-kde-{en|it}-base and I'm sure they are not installed (i run the commands you suggested me in the previous message). I know that it doesn't do anything because it should appear the synaptic's window showing you it is downloading

How do you know that it doesn't do anything? Do you get this message every time you start language-selector? What should happen is: install the language-pack-{gnome|kde}-$lang paackages if they are missing, depending on if you have Gnome or KDE or both applications installed. You can check if
