Using %U will cause many commercial dvds to fail when vlc is called from
dvd insertion. In these cases they have to run from vlc's file -> open
disc menu to open
Reinhard, the PPA packages work fine on my Intrepid test machine too; no
regressions from the 0.9.2 release that I can find.
I was told by ~motu-release that a follow-up feature freeze exception is
not necessary for this release, too.

I did some basic testing with 0.9.3 from your ppa, installing it,
running it, viewing a few different video files and that all worked
fine.
ps. could you provide a ppa with only vlc? With all those other programs
in there as well and with vlc itself consisting of several different
packages it is h
