Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox
When I open an rss feed (using Live bookmarks on the bookmarks toolbar) and right click on an item in the dropdown menu, a nice context menu pops up (open, open in new window, open in new tab, etc) over the opened rss feed. If I then right click on a different item in the rss feed dropdown menu, both the context menu and the dropdown menu close. I would prefer that right clicking on an item brings up its context menu (the current behavior), then right clicking outside of the context menu and the dropdown menu would make them both disappear (the current behavior), but right clicking on an element with the dropdown menu would open the context menu for that item (and obviously close the other context menu) (the expected behavior). Essentially, clicking outside of an active object makes that object inactive (or close, etc.). Clicking within an object that is a layer from the "top" would then close the current "top" layer object, and pass the action onto the second (now the "top") layer object. Steps to reproduce: 1) Add an RSS feed to your bookmarks toolbar. 2) Left click on the live bookmark that you just created on the bookmarks toolbar (a dropdown list of items should appear). 3) Right click on one of the items (a context menu should appear). 4) Left or right click on a different item in the dropdown list (the dropdown list and context menu disappear). 4b) Left or right click outside the dropdown list and context menu (the dropdown list and context menu disappear). I would like to see step 4 changed to: Left or right click on a different item in the dropdown list (the context menu for the selected item appears).
