Rebooted today and desktop effects are working, even though I had not

a terminal window, run jockey-gtk, replicate the situation, and see
whether it prints anything? Can you please copypaste the output there?

Did you mouse/keyboard work in other applications which were kept open
during that keyboard disconnect/reconnect? This doesn't sound like a
jockey specific problem to me, rather X.org or GTK not surviving this
kind of input device shuffle.

The rest of the system was responsive. Only the one window was unresponsive.
I've not touched the ibex installation since so should be able to replicate
this when I get home. If I can, I will gather further info. Is there
anything specific that could be useful?
