upgraded my system to gutsy yesterday and know what ? All gtk menues are
black again! Recompiled and installed the gtk-qt-engine source (http

This problem reoccurres with EVERY ubuntu upgrade since... since hmmm...

In fact, many dialog boxes are blackened too. Gimp (for example) gives

ok, don't know why this problem still exists in edgy, feisty
it disappeared after downloading, compiling and installing the 0.7 source
from the gtk-qt-engine home page (http://gtk-qt.ecs.soton.ac.uk/).
is there a wrong source-code package in the ubuntu tree ?
please make sure this is finally fix
Wanted to chime in since this hasn't had a comment since October 2006.
I'm still seeing this problem on Edgy, package version 0.70-0ubuntu1.
I'm attaching a screenshot. It seems to affect most GTK apps I've tried
except Firefox.

I'm using 0.60-1.1ubuntu7
And as I see, there is no 0.7 for Dapper:
#apt-cache policy gtk2-engines-gtk-qt
gtk2-engines-gtk-qt:
Installed: 0.60-1.1ubuntu7
Candidate: 0.60-1.1ubuntu7
Version table:
*** 0.60-1.1ubuntu7 0
500 cdrom://Kubuntu 6.06 _Dapper Drake_ - Release i386 (20060531.1
This really should be fixed in 0.7.
If you're still having problems please can you confirm which version
you're using?
