By forcing the latest update of 2.6.27.10 for linux-restricted-modules
and linux-image, my iwl3945 started working again. I was originally
having the same issues that it wouldn't even start
iwl3945 :0c:00.0: PCI INT A disabled
but now by forcing the update, it works well.

I'm also experiencing this problem on an X61s Thinkpad running intrepid
updated on about last Friday. linux-restricted-modules-common does not
contain the firmware (and in fact does not contain any modules at all as
far as I can see:

Hi... I have updated today - it was many things, hence I do not know
which one was it-most probably the restricted modules (even if there are
no listed, when I search them). Anyway, it is fixed somehow - I am
writing this from home. I am sorry, if I bothered anybody with that...
