Thanks for your bugreport.
This should be fine with software-center now, it will allow removal of
those apps. It will print a (scary) warning for direct dependencies of
ubuntu-desktop, but that is intentional.

Some applications that should be removable using gnome-app-install (because
they're useless to me and _nothing_ depends on them), aren't.
They are (but I'm not sure that they're limited to):
1. Bluetooth Analyzer (bluez-gnome)
2. Evolution Mail and Calendar

I wasn't trying to remove packages directly: I was trying to remove
application, instead.
However, I've already listed all the applications and packages that gave me

I've found the source of the bug for the Pidgin Internet Messenger
application (pidgin package): pidgin and pidgin-otr are (recomended)
dependency of ubuntu-desktop; gnome-app-install fails to remove Pidgin
Internet Messenger because pidgin is a dependency of pidgin-otr.
