Sorry for the slow response. I no longer use this program; so i will be
un-subscribing from this bug. I am using use ext4(just the default that
the installer uses). I went ahead and tested the archive you
attached(and a few others with more pictures). It is working correctly

Even that works just fine, though some browers fail to escape the
slashes properly, works just fine in konqueror though.

Ok, I am using the latest karmic, and I have tested this, but it still seems to
be broken for me. how to reproduce the problem:
create a new empty folder.
put an image named ⁄\⁄\⁄\⁄\⁄\\\⁄⁄⁄\⁄\⁄\⁄\ in that folder.
click create image gallery.
it will create an empty gallery.
if there
ok to be clear now it fails, but does not give you a warning that is
failed like it did before

ok after messing around with it some more it seems that folders with
slashes do work as Jonathan noted above. but if an image file has
slashes in it's name that the creation fails with out warning.
also images that are already compressed seem to be skipped???(at lease
they were not showing up
Works now in KDE 4.3.
