Intrepid Ibex reached end-of-life on 30 April 2010 so I am closing the
report. The bug has been fixed in newer releases of Ubuntu.

I am new to launchpad; please forgive me if I'm not following the right
protocol, but I think this is the best way for me to get some help. The
nasty bit: I'm using the CentOS 5.3 distro. The good bit: you have
found and fixed the exact bug I'm having w/Intel DG45ID mobo w/G45 and
Samsung
The test packages fixed the problem. Sorry for delayed response.

i can confirm that this bug is valid for the standard intrepid package
(xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10) on intel dg45id mainboards (g45
chipset) connected via dvi. (out of sync if i try to switch to text consoles
while in x)
i can also confirm, that the updated packages fixes
Since two have confirmed the package fixes the issue, I'm marking this
fixed.
@beh, since you're the original reporter, it would be great if you could
confirm the fix, and re-open the bug if the problem persists.
Everyone else, please file a NEW bug if you see these symptoms again in
jaunty or
I'm not sure whether we're likely to backport this fix for Intrepid, but
opening a task in case someone would like to pursue it and can narrow
down for us exactly which patch fixed it.
