This is actually the same bug as this one I've reported earlier: Bug #27909.
I didn't know at the time, but now I've realized that the black screen on my
22" also happens when the connection is discovered as "HDMI-1". Killing x and
removing cable doesn't change this, but a real reboot sometimes
I've somewhat narrowed down the problem. It only happens when the tv is
discovered as "HDMI-1". When that's the case the screen gets split. Then
I usually do a (couple of) reboot and hope that it gets discovered as
"TMDS-1" instead, because then it always connect correct!
