Discovered it here with the latest Firefox on Lucid.
1. Open Nautilus and locate the .gvfs directory in your home directory
(ctrl-h displays the hidden entries)
2. Right click on .gvfs and make a link.

Yes, also Epiphany present the same behaviour (and I am not surprised of
it).
A workaround is to add to my bookmarks the folder .gvfs, but an icon
should appear on the list as for other resources connected to the
machine.

I can confirm this bug too. It seems to affect epiphany and firefox-3.5.
Maybe the problem is not with firefox, could be some issue witha a gtk
upload dialog ?

I have the same problem as mentioned, with Intrepid. Gnome support
package is installed:
