I'm having the same problem with a HP dv9500. I am experiencing the
same exact symptoms as Mathieu Marquer (thanks!).
Basically I have to hold down space bar, or any other key, in order to
keep the boot proc

I'm trying to help him, so here are a few details :
* This didn't happen with Ubuntu 8.04.
* You can press the key you want, but if you don't the system won't continue
booting (or it will take a very long time)
* After pressing a key, "ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [] enabled at IRQ xx"

i tested without quiet and splash, and another time without acpi. No change.
And it doesn't matter what key i press.
