Public bug reported:

hello.

im experimenting with the beta of the 64 bit version of kubuntu intrepid ibex
and i have a small issue, that being i cant get the new kernel to load
(2.6.27-6-generic)
basically one of 2 things happens if i load the new kernel at start up, i
either get a black screen with the words " checking battery state " and it will
just sit there and do nothing, or i will get a log in prompt, which is also a
black screen with white lettering (by a log in prompt i mean like you would get
if you press f2 etc etc)

im currently using the 2.6.27-5-generic instead as i cant use the newer kernel.
the system is up to date, and i cant see any errors any where, and i have no
idea why the new kernel wont load.
cheers
