I confirm this issue in 8.04... Usually, SSID is seen but association
fail mostly at startup. More or less depending on updates... really more
than less since maybe 6 months.
For a LTS version, such problems not solve since more than 2 years
reveal al lack of testing (3945 was so common!). I'll
Unfortunately it seems this bug is still an issue. Can you confirm this
issue exists with the most recent Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 release -

Hi macavity,
Would you be willing to test the latest pre-release of Jaunty 9.04,
currently Alpha 5 . It contains a newer 2.6.28 based kernel. You
should be able to test using a LiveCD -

iwl3945 (v1.2.25) still
I have tried to disabled hardware scanning with
sudo rmmod -f iwl3945
sudo modprobe iwl3945 disable_hw_scan=1
which at least allowed me to connect to my wireless network.
But then I am still having the same problem of an extremely slow and eventually
dropping network connection.
Thinkpad X60,
Wireless is still not working on my X60.
I installed Windows XP just to see if I had a hardware problem but under
Windows wireless is working fine.
So I have upgrade my X60 to 8.10, ran a full system update and installed
linux-backports-modules-intrepid but it still doesn't work.
Am I supposed
Wireless worked great a few months ago in Hardy. I haven't used wireless
in a while- just tried it yesterday and found I had the same problem as
the orig post. Tried a few fixes found in other dark corners of the web,
including replacing network-manager with WiCD and deleting udev's 70
Thanks for the feedback. If you can also try installing the linux-
backports-modules-intrepid package to see if it helps that would be
great. It contains and updated compat-wireless stack. Let us know if
you see any improvements. Thanks.

Sourcepackagename:
Yes this is still an issue for me, even under Intrepid Ibex.
I still can't connect to my WPA network at all, or when I am connected it only
works for about 5min before the connection becomes slower and slower until it
eventually drops altogether.
It works OK on enterprise WPA-EAP networks.

Hi macavity,
Care to confirm if this is still an issue with the more recent Intrepid
Ibex 8.10 release that came out at the end of last month. I realize
you're on Hardy, but according to the SRU policy, the fix should already
be deployed and tested in the current development version before an
