Was that a fresh install or an upgrade?
I've seen that before where people have managed to associate folders with totem.
If you want to fix it, run nautilus, right click on a folder and go to
the "Open With" tab and make a more useful selection than Totem.

Hi sorry for my bad english, but..
I used to Ubuntu 8.10. beta and gnome
When I try open from menu Places for example folder Music, Documents or
my Home is opened Totem player. Why is not started file browser?
