If you've tried installed to install bandwidthd with apt there should be
a logfile in /var/log/apt . Can you please attach the files in this
directory (if term.log doesn't exists there may be a term.log.1.gz ) ?
If it's not there, then can you please attach the output of the command:
$ sudo
You'll need to use root privileges to read /var/log/apt/term.log; this
is likely to work better in a console than in a desktop file manager or
whatever.

Can you describe the steps you were following to get this error then ?
Btw, you don't have to assigned the report to yourself and set status to
in progress unless you're working on a fix.
