Title:
volume control should allow "one-click-mute"
To manage notifications
with 12.10 and 13.04 it finally is nearly good. but - switching the
sound level to 120% with the sound settings is _not_ persistent. all the
time one touches the loudness the maximum is reset to 100%.

with lucid it got good again ... but unfortunately it is no checkbox or
an icon any more - and therefor is internationally understandable. but a
text which needs to be translated. and of course it is not translated
consistently.

If the volume control would be shown in the system tray (like the nm-
applet for example) instead of being its own applet, a middle click
could be used to mute the sound. I wonder if somebody has ever removed
it from his panel? If no it could just be shown in the systray and a
middle click could
By the way: this is about gnome-applets, not gnome-panel

Have you tried setting up keyboard shortcuts? I do not have a multimedia
kb, so I just set the 'volume mute' command to the numpad asterisk key,
since I never use it.

You received this bug notification because
thank you for your bug report, you can use your keyboard multimedia keys
to do there, the left click is used to open the slider, the middle click
to move the applet and the right click to open the context menu so they
can't be used to do something else now, closing the bug that's not one
**
well, that's still more than one click lol. as I said, a kb shortcut is
your best option for quick muting.
