Any progress on this? Still seeing this regularly in kern.log on Karmic
beta with 2.6.31-14.
Usually is logged within a few moments of bootup. Though, I had one
instance logged at just over one second into boot process.

The ACPI error went away when I upgraded to 2.6.31-rc8, but the EC
interrupt mode is still switched off whenever I resume. Sometimes it is
accompanied by a "GPE interrupt storm" message.

I was having these on an irregular basis until I installed a test kernel
based on the upcoming -11 kernel. There is an ACPI flood detection fix
for non-interrupt access which looks likely the base of the fix. If

My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5510, and it suffers from very slow HD (pata on
Intel ICH6) transfers, freezing the computer, and leaving the DVD burner
useless, it just burn (and mount) CDs.
