Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal-info

This stick is the T-Mobile Web 'n Walk stick.

To make it work with ubuntu, please add the following section to
10-modem.fdi

<!-- Option GIO225 -->
<match key="@info.parent:usb.vendor_id" int="0x0af0">
       <match key="@info.parent:usb.product_id" int="0x6971">
          <match key="@info.parent:usb.interface.number" int="0">
             <match key="serial.port" int="0">
               <append key="modem.command_sets"
type="strlist">GSM-07.07</append>
               <append key="modem.command_sets"
type="strlist">GSM-07.05</append>
             </match>
          </match>
        </match>
      </match>

After adding this and installing usb_modeswitch or ReZero this works
beautifully with NetworkManager
