I removed both "quiet & splash" in menu.lst, but it seems the place it happens is always different, but always between grub and the real progression line (kernel loading?) Another user seems to have the same problem, I give you our dmesg. It happens always between following lines [ 39.019083] EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
