This has happened to me on Intrepid with kernel 2.6.27-9. dd and klogd
tie up the cpu while I have no space on / because /var/log/kern.log,
syslog, messages take up ~2GB each.

I'm running Ibex and I have the same problem, i.e. dd and klogd eat up
my cpu and produce huge log files. Killing the processes and deleting
the log files seems to fix things, but it's really annoying!

same here on 8.10 up to date. noticed when dd was taking half of my CPU :-)
just before that I was doing an rsync over the local network (high network load)

I also have this problem running the latest Intrepid Ibex. Running 'sudo
/etc/init.d/klogd stop'
fixes the log problem, but not the underlying scheduler problem.
