Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

I love the 3g support including the configuration guide in NM 0.7 - it
is a brillliant step in making it easy for everyone to be able to
configure their GSM Modem quickly and without needing expertise
knowledge.

Unfortunately, NM never prompts the user for the modem's PIN code. The
user has to manually understand that the reason to the constant GSM
connection failures (without any bubble-type error messages...) is that
the modem PIN lock is not unlocked and then find the relevant setting in
nm-connection-editor.

I believe that this causes a majority of users with fully supported and
capable GSM modems to think that Ubuntu doesn't support their modem,
which is a shame...

** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

NM 0.7 should prompt user for an eventual GSM Modem PIN Code instead of failing
