I haven't experienced this problem in 9.10. I can't upgrade my systems
to 10.04 yet -- work currently requires 9.10. This can probably be be
marked invalid -- I think the bug is more or less the same as 55739.

It sounds like the screensaver has grabbed the mouse and hidden the
cursor and for whatever reason is not releasing it. However, I'm not
sure how to verify that.
There's not enough info yet on this bug to begin troubleshooting it

The same lose track of mouse problem happened this morning, but this
time while I was actively using my computer. There are strange
messages about reconnecting my mouse in Xorg.0.log. I’ve attached a
