This is a bug in webkit and is solved by updating to a more recent
webkit version from the webit ppa

Actually Conduit 0.3.14 was a stable release, however I forgot to inform
autotools of that fact, so the main window still displays "Unstable" in
the title.
0.3.15 is a bug fix release from the same branch (gnome-2.24). We will
continue to make bug fixes from this branch in the 0.3.x series.

I recommend updating to Conduit 0.3.15 soonish. That release is devoted
to small fixes and may have resolved the issue we see here. Since
Conduit is itself still an unstable "development version", I don't think
there is much to lose in doing so.
