I have the same problem. I'm using Karmic 64-bit under an AMD chipset.
Have no sound trying to play GSM files.

Nope! not fixed in 9.10
Cannot hear the gsm file when I move my cursor on it and cannot play back in
TKUsr (yes I know that application is obsolete. - but there is nothing else
that will upload a gsm file to the modem - except now it doesn't)

Martin, I'm running 9.10. Totem says Pause | 0:00 (Streaming) and when I
hit play, the visual effects play for what I would approximate as the
time of the recording, however the time does not change and no audio is
heard.

@Pedro I only see a patch upstrem, no one confirming this is fixed or works.
Can't find any references to it in this changelog either:

This is still a problem in Intrepid. Will the fix come through with
