This error used to happen to me seldom, but lately it always takes only about
10 to 20 seconds before crashing.
Current version is: aMule 2.2.2 using wxGTK2 v2.8.8
Running on: Linux 2.6.27-14-generic x86_64

I had the same issue with Ubuntu intrepid.
Now I'm able to use without any problem the program via the daemon mode
and the webserver interface.
