Agreed, this bug report is kind of tricky to follow due to the different
backtraces. If I am understanding correctly, the original crash of
calculate_curbe_offsets() is now fixed, so I guess we can consider this
particular bug solved.

** Description changed:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
I am running Ubuntu 8.10 Beta AMD64 and the system is a Lenovo Thinkpad
X200 with a Core 2 Duo P8600 and integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics.
Package versions:
xserver-xorg 1:7.4~5ubuntu3
xserver-xorg-core
H, this is difficult. Every backtrace appears to be of a completely
different crash, which is odd. Would you be able to run memtest just in
case there is any underlying hardware issue?
Thanks

memtest86+ reports no errors. To me it looks like there are two separate
crashes occuring: the original one which appears to be fixed now, and
the different crash that I had once originally and seems to be
recurring now. Perhaps the latter one should be in a separate bug?

I agree - I think you should report each separate crash in different bug
reports, otherwise it will get far too messy.

Hi Dan, do you still experience the crash? Would you mind also attaching
the output of sudo lspci -vvnn to this bug report? Thanks.

Thanks, it is not crashing anymore. The graphics in wine are not
actually usable yet, but at least they don't take out the X server now.

I spoke too soon, it still crashes, just differently and not every time
anymore. I seem to be able to reproduce this one by running qtgears in
wine, exiting it, and then running it in wine again.

Thanks. This looks like it's crashing in mesa, so I'm reassigning. Could
you please install libc6-dbg and libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg and then obtain
another backtrace.
Thanks in advance.

I'll be able to make a new backtrace in about 10 hours, but libgl1-mesa-
dri-dbg was installed. Any hints on how to force GDB to use the symbols,
or otherwise resolve them would be useful. I won't be able to verify the
version numbers on my dbg packages until later, but they should be
correct.
I
I could not get the symbols working, so I compiled and installed libgl1
-mesa-dri from the source package.
During my testing, I also had one crash in an apparently different
place; I am attaching that backtrace as well.
