@Marktrix, this is not the same problem. Take a look at bug 274662
regarding yours. This is probably gfxboot-grub that is the culprit in
your case.

I have a very similar error on any update or package download... I
tried the Paul Hirst suggestion and the suggestion in bug 266972 and I
get the following for both...
-restricted-modules-2.6.27-7-generic is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing linux-restricted-modules-generic
I have just experienced the same issue after an upgrade.
I resolved it by doing
sudo apt-get remove linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic linux-restricted-
modules-2.6.27-7-generic linux-image-generic linux-restricted-modules-
generic linux-generic
followed by
sudo apt-get install linux-image-generic
This is also reported in other reports: bug 266972 , bug 257386
