I have updated to 10.04 a while ago and the issue remains. The keyboard is not recognised as such. General function does work. Volume up/down/mute also works. F/Mode key does not. Let me know if I can run some commands or tests for you. It might just be a mapping or settings issue by now. Ken

Sorry for the confusion. Mouse and keyboard work ok but special features don't work. Meanwhile I have switched to generic international keyboard which solved some of the problems with sound control. Xorg.conf tells me that everything is now configured in Hal. Where do these hal rules come from
