Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
I had my hp tc4400 tablet PC working with hardy. I just changed to intrepid, and I get the startup message "Ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode. The following error was encountered: (EE) No devices detected" I can then choose to run in low-graphics mode, which results in a resolution of 1024x768, which is the full resolution for the screen (but it takes a few extra clicks on startup). I noticed that this produces an xorg.conf.failsaife. Once the display is up most things work as usual, but I cannot use xrandr to rotate the screen. Also, the stylus does not work at all. I changed the name of xorg.conf.failsafe to xorg.conf and added device and and serverlayout sections similar to the ones I used before, but re- starting X does not change anything, the tablet features are still completely missing. I was quite disappointed by this as I'd read that intrepid was suppose to have enhanced tablet support. #lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 #apt-cache policy xorg xorg: Installed: 1:7.4~5ubuntu3 Candidate: 1:7.4~5ubuntu3 Version table: *** 1:7.4~5ubuntu3 0 500 http://se.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- intrepid: tablet pc screen stylus stopped working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291787 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
