still didn't work. It was detected and I could pair it with the PIN
identification, but it just wouldn't do anything else. I'll try again
this week.

Still going on, this is lame.
Gnome bluetooth applet does absolutly nothing. It lets me pair the
keyboard and that's it. The mouse and keyboard do not function.
However using hidd --search or hidd --connect MAC does connect...however
only the mouse works, not the keyboard. I tried adding the hidd

Just to reiterate, the logitech ps3 keyboard works fine on my 64bit 9.04
HTPC. This means that the developers of gnome bluetooth need to figure
on the differences between the 64bit and ppc architectures.

I am using jaunty on a PS3 and trying to install the (bluetooth) mediaboard
pro. I tried to install it via the bluetooth manager first. It appeared to
register properly when I entered the code but the keyboard didn't work... no
keystrokes or mouse movement in linux. Second I tried to connect

I'll try what RainerB suggested, but that doesn't exactly seem like a
permanent solution. I'm thinking of just plopping down some money on the
Logitech Denovo Edge. As long as it seems like it'll work for sure.

True enough, as it is not paired using the BT applet.
I was just aiming for full functionality... and since the work around
allowed me to use the mediaboard to log in after booting up, I was
happy. Considering how long I wrestled with the thing.

@Kris: Yes, it works without the bluetooth stack probably because your
dongle is in HID mode.
Setting both HID2HCI_ENABLED and HID2HCI_UNDO to 1 in
/etc/default/bluetooth should make your dongle go to HCI mode during
boot and back to HID mode on shutdown. Then you should be able to pair
your mouse

2 Run in a terminal
# sudo hidd --search
4 Press the reset button on the device : keyboard and touchpad working.
5 Get the

Is there an update on this BUG? I just installed Jaunty 9.04 on my PS3 -
I am using the Logitech Di Novo BT KB. It works at kboot, but once my

I think that one will sort out itself when standard bluetooth
probe/pair/connect works.
Then again, I don't know the difference between the internal logics of bluez vs

There are three fixes cherry picked for the main kernel, maybe it would be
worth a shot to ask Luke to add them to

kernel in Jaunty as soon as Luke rebases linux-port on jaunty

He seems to do that for every release, so people with a problem here
should try again with the next version.

Mediaboard with the latest kernel with bluetooth fixes. In short I had
some success. But there are a couple kinks to work out yet before this
regression is completely fixed up.

The input-synaptics interaction may be due to what I'm seeing with my
USB keyboard

If the hal description of your mouse says
input
withoud "hidd" the keyboard doesn't even attach as an input device.
hidd sure connects an input device, with driver "synaptics" if the synaptics
driver is installed. hal-set-property does not help me here :(

some more investigation showed that it helped, the keyboard spawned into
some other input devices, which I changed the properties on to make it

So it seems that your keyboard is assigned to the synaptics driver
because hal sees it with the capability "input.touchpad" (there is an
fdi file to does this assignment input.touchpad => synaptics driver).
I need to investigate a bit more on this issue, so

However, I think the big problem is that the keyboard does not attach as input
device without help of the hidd binary on ps3, not needed on i386 or amd64
(that one's still a hardy)

You're right, the synaptics problem is simply a secondary issue that I
wanted followed somewhere else. This bug should only relate to the
bluetooth problems.

sure, but I don't have the synaptics problem on the other machines.
I think that one will sort out itself when standard bluetooth
probe/pair/connect works.
Then again, I don't know the difference between the internal logics of bluez vs
manually connecting with hidd.

There are three fixes cherry picked for the main kernel, maybe it would be
worth a shot to ask Luke to add them to
Dan, ignore what I said before.
We will get these three upstream fixes, cherry picked for the main
kernel in Jaunty as soon as Luke rebases linux-port on jaunty
2.6.28-11.39
He seems to do that for every release, so people with a problem here
should try again with the next version.

The input-synaptics interaction may be due to what I'm seeing with my
USB keyboard

No I didn't contact Luke, he seems to do a rebase on the "standard"
jaunty kernel for every "ports" kernel release, so It will come for free
the next time.
Do you think I should explicitly ask him for a new ports release ?

Seems that Luke released a new "ports" kernel and a bluetooth fix has
been integrated

You might be interested in my comment on bug #268502 where I tested my
Mediaboard with the latest kernel with bluetooth fixes. In short I had
some success. But there are a couple kinks to work out yet before this
regression is completely fixed up.

OK I'll remember to ask him explicitly the next time.
For this bug,, bluetooth fixes have been included in the ports kernel,
so bluetooth testers needed :-)
