I noticed this only happens with the visual effects switched on,
whenever i turn them off the flashing stops. I dont know if this will
help but thats just waht i have noticed. i am running ubuntu 8.10 on a
hp tx2525nr. It has the architecture of a 64 bit but i decided to run a
32 bit version inst
