Public bug reported: Using Intrepid Ibex current as of Nov 3.
Intel IWL3945 Wireless Card Network: WEP w/ ASCII passphrase When I enter the passphrase (after changing the password type from '40/128 bit key' to '128 bit passphrase') the dots in the tray icon would turn green, about 30 seconds would pass, and it would prompt me for the password again. The following showed up in /var/log/debug: Nov 3 09:54:13 kil-asus kernel: [ 652.847571] wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:01:f4:ec:39:17 Nov 3 09:54:13 kil-asus kernel: [ 652.849331] wlan0: authenticated Nov 3 09:54:13 kil-asus kernel: [ 652.849343] wlan0: associate with AP 00:01:f4:ec:39:17 Nov 3 09:54:13 kil-asus kernel: [ 652.851327] wlan0: RX ReassocResp from 00:01:f4:ec:39:17 (capab=0x11 status=0 aid=43) Nov 3 09:54:13 kil-asus kernel: [ 652.851340] wlan0: associated Nov 3 09:54:59 kil-asus kernel: [ 699.538635] wlan0: disassociating by local choice (reason=3) Every time the connection failed, the password type would switch back to '40/128 bit key' and I noticed that the value was different from the hex value provided on my school's website. Entering the hex key instead of using the passphrase allowed me to connect. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- intrepid: iwl3945 won't connect with WEP passphrase https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293424 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
