First I download Real Player from Synaptic and work up to the new
upgrade, I can run a music file, radio from Mozilla, but if I want to
switch to Real Player I need to restart the computer and viceversa. The
flash problem I was able to narrow a problem with Adobe Flash 10 which I
down load non free
(moving into flashplugin-nonfree)

Perhaps i lied about Real Player... I just couldn't find it in Synaptic,
and https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/realplayer seems obsolete.
Anyway, submit a bug report about that too, and we'll see what happens.

Hi!
It seems we have 2 issues here, and i don't see how they are related to
each other. I think the best way now is to split this bug report, by
moving #2(update-manager) into a new bug report. So please submit a new
bug report with the update-manager related stuff.
About Real Player: You have do
I forgot I have use sudo apt-get clean
before any reinstall
