X crashed again with the intel driver. For now, the crash seems to be related
to high cpu usage periods (I was copying a file over a slow usb 1.1 link).
Strangely enough, when copying such files, Xorg is the cpu hog (even with the
VESA driver it uses ~90% of the CPU).
Is there a known

latest X.org + intel driver release in Ubuntu Intrepid. From time to time (as
soon as less than a minute after logging on or as late as 6 hours later) X
locks up, goes into a restart loop and I can only start it with

I have installed Mandriva with kde-4.1 on my laptop. It works really
fine. No X-crashes. So, there must exist better X-drivers (or whatever
gives the problem). I think that intrepid has been released before
proper testing. I have experienced 3 computers where X crashes (using
ati and via drivers):
Sorry, I meant the intel, i810 and ati drives gave problems.

Flemming, the web interface can only upload one file per comment (for
the time being, there are plans to fix this). But bugs can also be
commented by sending an email to bugnr@bugs.launchpad.net, and all

my comments and attachments. Maybe reporting new bugs does not work
without a GPG key. I usually send attachments from a gmail account.
