Hi Remy. I don't think compiz is involved. The window grays out just because compiz realized that the application does not respond. It is a compiz effect. Perhaps you could do the backtracing thing (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace), or at least run pidgin in debug mode (pidgin --debug) and atta
