Public bug reported:

Running intrepid ibex and connecting my Nokia e66 via usb and "PC Suite
mode works perfectly except i cannot get the phone to acknowledge an
unmount in any way.

I've tried the usual, i.e. unmounting via nautilus, the desktop icons
etc. And everything seems fine on the linux side of things, i.e. the
system says that the device is safe to remove. Unfortunately the nokia
phone does not react at all, and disconnecting the phone results in data
corruption, and the phone needing to "repair" the file system.

The result is the same if i issue "sudo eject /dev/sdc/". The eject
command completes successfully, but the phone doesn't react, and hence i
get the same potential data corruption and repair process on the phone.

So far the only solution is to switch off the computer, which of course
isn't the way i'd like to handle my phone.

I'm stuck on this issue because prior to 2.6.27 there was a file
power/state somewhere in the usb subsection of ysfs, and one could echo
a 0 into that file to shut down power to the usb port. unfortunately
that's no longer the case in 2.6.27.
