I've been able to reproduce this on stuff that's just on another filesystem, like USB disks. I have an 80 gb USB drive, I followed the icon in nautilus that appears when the drive is detected and mounted. Deleting files on this drive again put them in "invisible" .Trash-1000 folders, which I then

After trying a few more cases it looks like this case happens when I follow a symlink into the other filesystem. In that case gvfs-ls does not show the file. 1. symlink from your home directory into another filesystem 2. use "dd if=/dev/zero of=zero bs=1M count=1024" to create a file there 3. foll
