Oh, I'm really sorry. The source of such strange behavior was that I
used Krusader to browse directory with pictures. When I open pictures
from Nautilus everything is fine.

I agree this is a function you'd expect in the default image viewer, but
I don't think this is expected behaviour of F-Spot. On my install of
intrepid Image Viewer is the default app for .jpg, .gif, .bmp. What
extension are the files you're viewing?

But is it expected behavior of F-Spot view? If it is so, why is it set
to be default image viewer in Ubuntu? I think, that most of the users
want to have such a function in default image viewer.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. I think the functionality you're after is provided by
'Image Viewer'. Try right clicking the image file, choose 'Open With' ->
'Open with Image Viewer'. If you want to make this the default
