number here. The issue you're describing seems to be a different problem
than using single DES encryption.

I have this same problem in both karmic and lucid.
The problem is that the vpn server doesn't require username and pass,
only group.
So even if i use "weak" it is not working.
At this point, the CLI command works with if I "enable single DES" or if
I issue the command with --enable-1des when it
This is fixed in the lastest version in the repositories for Jaunty:
0.7.1~rc4.20090316+bzr21-0ubuntu2.
Using the Encryption combo box, select "Weak (use with caution)" to use
Single-DES encryption.
