Clock freezes here on my 10.10 as well. Anyone can confirm that this has
to do with the 'expand' option in the panel properties dialog?
This only seems to happen on my system when I uncheck the 'expand'

Finally I received this crash when running it under gdb!

I'm not programmer so I don't really know what to do with gdb. I found
instructions how to install it, but even I install it by those manuals I
found I woudn't know how to attach gdb to evolution-data-server and monitor
what will happen.

Hello... I have now got the freeze while running with gdb attached.
Symptom:
Quick launch icons works
Main Menu works
Notify-icons works, but if I use something that is supposed to be animated it
isn't animated
Netspeed applet has stopped
The clock has stopped

I have the same problem, clock in panel freezes without any obvious
reason. There is nothing I can relate this behavior to. In panel clock
does freeze, but when I open clock applet it shows correct time.
Interesting in my case is that same time when clock freeze my network
manager icon becomes invi

How do I debug this situation? Gnome-panel is automatically started by
something, if I kill it it re-starts again so I cannot run it manually
under gdb.
Should I perhaps attach gdb to the running process? I'll give that a try
as long as I wait for a reply..

Now my clock has stopped. I have also lost all my icons in the
notification area. They are still there, I can get mouseover tooltips
and clicking on them works. If I open the clock applet the current time
is running.
Doing a 'killall gnome-panel' restarts the whole gnome-panel and gets it
working

This happens to me too, I have Ubuntu 8.10 x64 and have installed 2
times for this reason, the clock don't refresh the panel but if I click
it the calendar appears and if I right click and select adjust time, the
time it shows it's the right time but when I exit the panel the clock
stays unchanged.
Forgive me for being ignorant, but what would be the correct command to
install debugging in place of :
sudo apt-get install yelp-dbgsym=2.22.1-0ubuntu2.8.04.1
from the link provided above? Do I need debugging for gnome in general
or just the clock applet (if possible)?
