Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal
The gnome-terminal auto-completion seems to work only on the first entered command. Example: apt- + <TAB> will bring up the remaining possibilities to complete that command as regular, but: apt-get i + <TAB> won't show "apt-get install" or apt-get install k + <TAB> won't show packages beginning with k, instead there's a beep sound from the pcspeaker as if there were no valid possibilities to autocomplete the command. Autocompletion seems to work on folders though, like cp /home/r + <TAB> shows me folders beginning with r. Putting the "sudo" command in front of a command will make the autocompletion on the command not possible - the only thing that works is the autocompletion of the directory argument like "sudo cp /home/reic/f" to "sudo cp /home/reic/files/" Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 Installed: 2.24.1.1-0ubuntu1 candidate: 2.24.1.1-0ubuntu1 Versions: *** 2.24.1.1-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://ubuntu.intergenia.de intrepid-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.24.1-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://ubuntu.intergenia.de intrepid/main Packages ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/gnome-terminal NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: gnome-terminal 2.24.1.1-0ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-terminal Uname: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic i686 ** Affects: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug -- gnome-terminal partly fails to auto-complete commands https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298103 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
