Public bug reported:

Benq Joybook 7000.
USB ports working fine in Ubuntu 7.10, then in 8.04.
After upgrade to 8.10 USB ports will not respond to any device I attach -
mouse, thumb drive, ext HDD.
If booted with USB mouse connected it will sometimes respond to the USB mouse,
but in a very jerky manner. Once, the USB mouse worked properly when connected
before boot, but I have not been able to repeat this fluke.
The built-in touch pad works fine.
Possibly related: the video driver fails to recognise my RADEON X600 chipset. I
know this is a separate problem, but though it worth mentioning just in case.
Please excuse the scarcity of technical information, I'm just an end user, not
a software engineer.

Cheers,
Phil
