I got this on intrepid when trying to play flv files. This was after installing libavcodec52 and ffmpeg from https://launchpad.net/~baudm/+archive/ppa . Files play well in xine. Gdb backtrace: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. [Switching to Thread 0xb0e38b90 (LWP 11997)]
