I moved much more robust instance counting code into mount.ecryptfs_private and umount.ecryptfs_private themselves. They keep track of successful and unsuccessful mounts in a tempfile. The 'whoami' code was flimsy and buggy, and never quite worked correctly. And with a better built-in counter, c
