I couldn't scan from my network, reciving a "general protection" error
in syslog. I solved the problem changing in /etc/inetd.conf the line
sane-port stream tcp nowait saned/usr/sbin/saned
saned
with
sane-port stream tcp nowait root/usr/sbin/tcpd
/
I can confirm this. Every scan program crashes. See the attachment for
the valgrind + console output.
It seems the forked process segfaults, because the GUI continues. The scanner
devices starts a scan and
then hangs
