Thanks for the answer. I don't think it's a feature request as the
dialogue says "there's an executable file on the media" when there
obviously isn't one.

This is not a bug report, but a feature request. If you don't want the dialogue
to appear, please go to System->Preferences->File Management->Media.
About the icon for each drive, you can change the icon in Places->Computer then
right-click on the drive. But it will not change the icon fo
...(and it would be nice if gnome displayed used this icon for the
drive)
