My update to the latest version failed as wel (Ubuntu Jaunty x86_64) due
to a minor error in the initscript. I fixed it as following:
edit the init.d script:
~# sudo nano +45 /etc/init.d/hotkey-setup
At line 45 (blank) type 'fi' to make it look like this:

Thank you but you've only attached 1 log file. The directory /var/log
/dist-upgrade/ must should contains at least 3 files. Could you please
attach all the files in this directory . Thanks in advance.
